My son goes to the same school that I teach at, which is nice because it has saved us a fortune on daycare. He usually comes down to my room and does one of two things: a) invites another teacher's son down to play, or b) watches a movie wile I work. Today, we experienced option B. We went to the library to pick out a video for him to watch while I was working. I hadn't hooked up my computers until this afternoon and it was taking a long time for the Internet to load up, so we went for plan b. He had a hard time picking out the video, but settled on one about Mummies. Now, before he got the movie I warned him that last year the one about Mummies REALLY creaped him out. He assured me that now he was older and it wouldn't scare him. Yeah right, I thought. But I still let him get the movie. We started up the movie when we got back to the room and I had to step out to talk with my teaching partner. Not 5 minutes had passed before I noticed Jack hanging at the door to this teacher's room. He was watching the video from the doorway! I came back into my room and by this time the Internet had loaded up so I went and found a Magic School Bus video. He quickly chose to watch the Magic School Bus.
So, I guess Mom was right... this time.
