New strategy

Last year, I made a habit of sending the kids quotes in their lunchboxes that would give them a positive "Keep going, you're doing great!" bit of encouragement.  Both kids stuck their post-its in their lunchboxes, and by the end of the year had accumulated quite a stash.  Sometimes the quotes were funny, motivational, or nonsensical; however, the purpose was always the same: Give them something to think about, and know that at least one person is on their side (even if it doesn't seem like it).

I have been searching for interesting quotes on Pinterest to help me with next year's round of lunchbox quotes.  However, as I was searching, I realized that one of the kids would probably not appreciate a Post-it note with an inspirational quote in his lunch box (because he'll be too cool to carry one as a Freshman in High School).  Determined to keep up the tradition, I've decided to change my tactics.  Instead of putting them in his lunchbox, I'll take a picture of them and text it to him.  That way, he'll still know that at least one person is still on his side when things get sticky in high school.

After all, perseverance is a Life Skills.
