Pa, you wanna come over for dinner?
That was the question I heard my son Jack saying into the phone. He'd asked me if Grammy and Pa could come over for dinner, but I said he'd need to ask dad because I didn't know what we were doing for dinner. A few minutes later, I hear him on the phone asking his Pa if he could come over for dinner. Apparently, Pa handed the phone over to Grammy and Jack asked again. He said that his mom was cooking something and he'd tell her to make enough for them too if they wanted to come over. Now, I ask you what do you think they said? So Jack hangs up the phone and says that Grammy and P are coming over for dinner -- at 6:30 p.m. (it's 5:45 p.m.). So I pull him into the car and we go to the store to get things for a hamburger cookout dinner. Needless to say, it was a great dinner party.
