Are You Serious?

Today was the first day back to school from the winter break. True to form, the kids didn't get into the swing of things until about 10:20 - about the time they have gotten out of bed for the past 2 weeks. Not surprisingly, I was tired at the end of the day so I decided that I'd go home instead of working out and then go work out later.

While I was on the elliptical machine I had the choice of watching two shows - The Fiesta Bowl and The Bachelor. If you're a fan of the show then you'll probably want to stop reading this. I found myself watching the show when the Fiesta Bowl was at commercial. They showed the Bachelor first - which I must say he lost serious cred when he left his son a second time for 8 weeks to go bed-hopping to find "Mrs. Right". Yeah, that's a responsible parent. Now it's on tape and when his son grows up it'll show up on whatever Internet site or TV rerun that's around. How embarrassing to have your dad sleeping around with women he's going to dump in hopes of finding just the right to bring home to you (and then not marrying her in the end)!

So I praised God when the Fiesta Bowl came back on. Of course, then I found myself looking at the women as they were being introduced and Holy Cow! As each one ticked by I thought, "Slut, slut, slut, slut." Several women have children of their own. One woman lost her husband tragically apparently when her daughter was 1 yrs old ( I can't even imagine that - on top of that I don't think I'd ever get to the point where I thought, "It's time to start dating again, so I think I'll go on the Bachelor and see what I can find.), and now "she's ready to love again." HA! (did I say that out loud? - apparently because the guy next to me is smiling probably thinking the same thing.) Oh, oh yeah - and the former Dallas Cheerleader cracked me up tremendously. I know you were thinking just the other day (as was I) that Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders can have ANY guy they want. Oh, you weren't? Well she thinks us regular girls think that (it hurts to be that beautiful doesn't it?)

I will not watch that show again. Hopefully, I'll take note that it comes on on Mondays so I'll make the mental note of working out after school so I won't be subjected to that nonsense.
