Today my kids got to go to the State Fair of Texas. My in-laws take the kids on this annual outing. Our district gives students a day to go to the fair each year and yesterday was our day. Unfortunately, it rained all day yesterday (off and on) and there was even some severe weather last night as a cold front pushed through. Today was a staff development day for me, so the kids got a four day weekend.
This morning when I dropped the kids off at my in-laws, Grammy was telling the kids all that they were going to see at the fair. She mentioned that they were going to go to the petting zoo to pet and see all of the baby animals. Having done that Caroline said, 'They'd be kids by now Grammy."
She's actually quite right. In her world, they wouldn't be babies anymore, they'd be older kids.
