Twilight Camp - Day II

Well, Jason and Baby Girl and I went to pick up Jack from Twilight camp tonight. Luckily, his group was the first to get on the shuttle bus so we didn't have to wait long. True to form though, the camp ran long so Jack's shuttle didn't get to the parking lot until 8:50 p.m.. He was excited to show us all that he had gotten at camp. The first show and tell was his ball cap. He'd gotten a lot of different items to pin on his hat from "swapping". He had plastic cowboys, fishing lures, fishing bobs, pins, lizards. You name it (keep in mind these are little boys), he had it. He was so excited about this, mainly because other boys wanted items that he had.

The second thing he wanted to show us was the keepsake box he'd made in crafts. He kept telling Jason that he made it all by himself and used a hammer. He had an example to go by, but pretty much he did it himself. I'm sure the instructor took them through the making of the box step by step and let them do the work on their own. He had some swaps in the box that he couldn't get on his cap so we did that when he got home.

The last thing he wanted to show us was the thing he had been excited about for a long time. BB shooting. He had gone to the safety training yesterday and was really excited to get to do it today. He kept repeating the rules to anyone who would listen (mainly me about 100 times). He had his target in his keepsake box. He scored 77 points! In order to get your BB gun shooting badge you needed 35 points, so he pulled out his BB gun shooting badge. A new thing for me to sew onto his ever-shrinking vest! He was most proud of that. It was his first time shooting and he got his badge. Not everyone got a badge, so he felt extra special.

So anyway. Twilight Camp Day 2 was a success. Tomorrow he'll continue to swap and I think he'll get to do archery. Not expecting as rave reviews about that one.
