What a Day

I'm beginning to fear what will happen after Week 1 of our Summer Vacation is over. The kids and I have been busy most days and don't have much downtime until Twilight camp. Today, we rode our bikes to the gym and then home again. The kids had minor arguments about who is the leader and who pushes the button to cross the street. We've hammered it out to Jack leading at the beginning with Caroline pushing the button and the opposite on the way home.

After returning from there we went to Subway for dinner where Jack got a foot long sandwich, ate half and kept half for his dinner tonight. Caroline ate a six inch sandwich. So they're no longer getting the children's meal, :(.

We then traveled to Academy to see if we could find a lid for Jack's Twilight bucket but no luck. We did however find some awesome lures to use as swap items (he was cleaned out of most of his stuff last night, although he had most of his cowboys and indians -- excuse me-- Native Americans). On the way home Jack called his Pa to see if he had a lid for the 5 gallon bucket, but no luck. Pa did suggest going to Sherwin Williams paint to see if they had any lids. So we dropped by one close to our house and went in to see. Sure enough, they did have some. The guy who helped us donated the bucket to Jack since he was in boy scouts. I thought that was nice.

When we got home, Jack helped me put safety pins on his lures and we stored them in his keepsake box. He then left to go play at some friend's house and returned at 2:45 p.m..

Whew! I need a break!
