Okay, let me know if you've ever had one of these moments.
The other day, I took Jason's car to the store. I had some things to pick up for a baby shower plus some other items. On days when I just go around town, I usually take Jason's Camry (better gas mileage). I was shutting the car door, when I guess the edge of the door hit the end of the car key. Now, Jason's car key is one of those that has all of the essential buttons on it. Unlock, lock, panic, and trunk opener. Well, the key went flying out of my hand, hit the car and landed on the ground. I didn't try to break my neck to grab the falling key, mainly because this has happened before and I've just simply picked up the key and gone on my way.
Well, when the key hit the ground it broke open and parts flew everywhere. I'm sure people passing by were wondering about my sanity because I was looking at the ground going, "Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh," and "What just happened?" I found all of the big pieces (there were 3) and looked frantically for the black and white buttons on the black and white gravel. The panic button was easy to spot - bright red. When I counted the buttons 4 times to make sure I had 4 buttons, I looked at the big parts and discovered that if I pressed the piece that had these white dots on it, in just the correct spot I could lock and unlock the car. Whew! Okay, let's go shopping now.
After I'd purchased my items, I went and sat down in the food shop and pulled out all of the pieces. After about 5 minutes I'd had the key back together. I thought I would just move on and not mention anything to Jason, but I changed my mind and told him when I got home. After all, it would be awful if he dropped it on the ground and it shattered.
Have you ever had one of those moments?
