I'll let Jdhteach tell the whole story, but goodness gracious! I can handle students that don't know a whole lot (through no fault of their own - they just haven't learned it yet), but I absolutely cannot handle stupid adults. You know the ones. They were the people growing up that thought the world revolved around them even though they weren't 2 years old anymore. We had a family field trip today and decided to go to the bowling alley.
We were placed next to two women, who obviously had no clue a) how babies were made and b)how to keep it from happening. They also had no clue how to keep up with the 8 children they had between them (with one on the way). We moved lanes once because all 8 children (I'd say 9 years down to 1 year) felt that they needed to help the other child bowl. Of course they had no clue about bowling etiquette. So they'd just go when they felt like it. The moms kept talking and not paying attention to where the kids were. A couple of times the 2 year old would come over to our lane and try to pick up Jdhteach's ball. I was the one who told her to put down the ball because it was too heavy and then shooed her back to her mom. Of course the whole time one mom is apologizing, but hey it's not my fault if your kid gets whacked upside the head with a 12 pound bowling ball because you can't keep up with him (which actually did almost happen). Jdhteach was in the process of releasing the ball down the lane when the 2 or 3 year old boy walked right behind him. The kid almost got hit in the head with the ball. Of course, even after that Jdhteach had to tell him very sternly to stay in his lane with his mom. The same response as before, "I'm so sorry." But by this time Jdhteach and I had had enough so I responded, "That's fine that your sorry but that's not going to help much if the boy gets hit in the head with a 12 lb bowling ball." I know it was probably rude, but I'd had enough of their stupidity.
Forrest Gump was TOTALLY right, "Stupid is as stupid does."
