The first day of school went really well. I like my schedule because the kids have specials (music, art, pe) first thing in the morning. Then it's straight teaching until 2:15 when they have band/orchestra. It really makes the day go by quickly.
So far (it's only been one day) they seem pretty good. That'll change towards the end of the year when they are getting ready for junior high, but hey, it's good while it lasts. No surprises in students. My teaching partner is going to be getting the sister of a girl I had last year. It will be interesting to see how long she lasts. Last year, she thought the fifth grade teachers were too strict, so she made her mom put her back in her old school. I love it when that happens. Who's the parent there?
Jack had a good day as well. He had homework on the first day of second grade - nothing hard mind you but it was funny. He wanted to play instead of do his work, so it was a little difficult at first.
We're off and running. Only 180 more days until summer!
