Crazy, crazy day!

Today was the first day of VBS: Camp Edge. I'm the coordinating teacher for the 3's and 4's, so basically I go around and make sure all of my teacher have what they need and if they don't, I go and find it for them. VBS officially has over 500 children ages infant-5th grade. The infant-3 year olds are for mom's who are working in some other capacity during VBS. But still 500 kids is alot!

The day was pretty hectic as is expected on the first day of anything. I walked around almost the whole time. I fixed name tags that had string that was too small for the kid's heads, found red (actually red, pink, and white) Playdoh for one teacher who needed it for Thursday's project, talked with a parent who was unhappy with her child's placement, et. The morning went by fast, so it was good.

Jack and Caroline had a blast! Jack really likes his class and Caroline was excited because there are several kids in her class that she went to school with. I think that I like teaching better than being a coordinating teacher. It's more set, and there's more to do. I found myself wandering through the different classes to see what everyone was doing. Tomorrow will be a challenge mainly because the 3 and 4 year olds will be in the Celebration with everyone else.

After VBS we met Jason for lunch. He was released from jury duty so we got to spend the afternoon with him. Caroline wanted to know why we weren't going swimming, and got very upset at my answer, "Sweety, we need to slow down. We've been doing something everyday, and we just need to rest." Well this didn't sit well with her and she began to argue. When she'd cooled off in the car, she was better. However, she didn't quite seem like herself the rest of the day. Her voice was raspy the rest of the day and she complained that she didn't feel well (stomach ache). She and Jack both fell asleep at 7:00 p.m. Jack's up, but I put Caroline to bed about 8:00.

Tomorrow will be about the same. Jack has golf team practice at 4:30. I think it'll be good for him to get out. The kids he normally hangs with are out of town this week. Wish me luck!
